Herbert Johannes Hans Hansen

It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Herbert Hansen on June 1, 2026, at the age of 90.

Herbert was a beloved son, father, brother, uncle, grandfather, great-grandfather, and a good friend to many throughout his life. He will be remembered for his hardworking nature, his resilience, and the friendships he built wherever life took him. His love of pigeons and canaries gave him a deep profound happiness

Born on March 10, 1936, Herbert came to Canada in the late 1950s in search of opportunity and adventure. Over the years, he worked at almost every job imaginable. His journey took him from farming in Manitoba to working in the mills of northern Vancouver Island. Eventually, he settled in Vancouver, where he spent many years working at the grain elevators until his retirement.

Herbert's life was defined by dedication, perseverance, and a willingness to work hard. More importantly, he was a man who valued family, friendship, and community. He touched the lives of many and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

His memory will live on in the hearts of his family, friends, and all those fortunate enough to have shared in his life.
