Jeremy Hicks

I just found out about Jeremy's passing last night. I knew Jeremy through online video games for most of my adult life. We had played since our college years and kept up by texting about the latest games coming out and complain about how they aren't what they used to be. I'm honestly really beat up that he's gone even though I never knew him in real life. To me he was just Jer in Discord chat. I had to look up his profile to realize his last name was Hicks. I live 2,000 miles away from Vancouver but we still kept in touch for over 10 years.

My deepest condolences to his family and friends. To attest to his character. A few years back when I was down on my luck financially. Jeremy offered to send me what I considered a ridiculous amount of money to help me out. I declined his offer but he even wanted to train me in his career path and help me find a job because he made good money. I never took him up on that offer but I remember the kindness.

I'm going to miss this guy.
