Joan Miller

June 23, 1922 — May 11, 2016

On May 11th, beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother and aunt passed

away peacefully at Crossroads Hospice, Port Moody. Born in Bridgetown,

Barbados on June 23, 1922, and was the youngest of 5 children.  She was very

involved with the Girl Guides, a big animal lover, was a breeder of Fox Terriers

and Cocker Spaniels. Played Tennis and Golf in her younger years and a

watcher of both in her golden years also was a huge Canuck fan. The family

immigrated to Canada in 1982. She was predeceased by her husband Doug, and

will be sadly missed by her friends and loving family, son Ron (Carla), daughter

Cathy, granddaughter Lesley (Alan) and great grandchildren Alyssa, Jack and

Lincoln and many nieces and nephews in Canada, England, Australia and

Barbados. A celebration of life will be held on Friday May 20th at First

Presbyterian Church, 335 – 7th St, New Westminster at 1 pm. In lieu of flowers,

please make a donation The Heart & Stroke Foundation or The Union Gospel

Mission or a charity of your choice in Joan’s name.
