Jocelyn Wilkes July 21, 1954 to April 25, 2013
Jocelyn passed away peacefully at St Michael’s Hospice in Burnaby on the afternoon of April 25th, 2013.
Jocelyn was born in Thunder Bay, Ontario. She was predeceased by her parents Henry Sr. and Beatrice Roach. Along with her siblings Henry jr, Leo, Oliver and Stella.
She is survived by her daughter Shelly and her husband Colin, and son Jonathan, and his spouse Julie, and her grandchildren Jamie Lee, Branden, Tyssis, Aidan, and Miikwaan, also her two cats Miss Mew and Bubs. She is also survived by her siblings Corrine and Michael.
Jocelyn lived most of her adult life in the Vancouver area but did spend five years with her daughter in Montreal, Quebec. She held various jobs over the years including working in the forestry industry, housecleaning and in the last few years before she passed she worked at LJ Christmas Manor a senior housing society as a dietary aid in which she helped serve snacks, and emcee theme nights such as karaoke nights, bingo nights and casino nights. She also volunteered at the SPCA and animals held a special place in her heart especially her cats.
Jocelyn loved and enjoyed spending time with her family, friends and grandchildren. Some of her hobbies included bowling, baking and needlepoint. She loved singing, playing guitar, camping and travelling. Jocelyn travelled over the years to Las Vegas, Texas, Alaska and the Caribbean.
Jocelyn was strong in her faith; she found comfort in knowing she would soon be with OUR FATHER and his holy mother Mary in Heaven.
