BOWES, John Weston
March 29, 1933 – August 13, 2014
With much love, we say goodbye to John. Left with many happy memories are his wife Lynda, daughters Patti (Len), Cathy and Jennifer (Mike), granddaughters Samantha, Nicole and Paige, extended family members and a host of friends. His gentle, caring manner and love for family will always be remembered and missed.
The son of Jack and May Bowes, John was born and raised in Vancouver. He settled in Coquitlam when he married his wife Lyn in 1964, and they raised three daughters together. John’s working life was spent in sawmills, including 33 years at Simonds Saws. In his spare time, John loved to bowl, and he coached YBC bowling in Maillardville for 25 years. John also enjoyed traveling and after he retired, he and Lyn took many memorable trips including a trips to England, New York and a Panama cruise.
A devoted grandpa, John spent a large part of his retirement happily shuttling one granddaughter or another back and forth to school or various activities, and he was a staple at swim meets, dance recitals and hockey games.
John’s family would like to thank the staff at Eagle Ridge Hospital for their kind care of John.
Respecting his wishes, there will be no service.
