We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of our dear husband and father, Andy Gillespie after an 8 year battle with pulmonary fibrosis. He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years,Joyce, his son Jesse, daughter Caitlin and sister,May.
Andy was born in Central Butte, Saskatchewan, lived in Tugaske until joining RBC in Eyebrow, Sask in 1964. He moved to Vancouver with his wife in 1970 where he worked in a variety of roles, including Personal Lending, Commercial Lending, and Branch Management. He spent time in Victoria, Richmond and Prince Rupert before transferring back to Richmond and then moving to Port Coquitlam. In 1985 Andy joined Risk Management until his retirement in 2005.Andy was highly respected by his colleagues as a man of integrity, extremely knowledgeable, kind, generous and a man of faith. Andy was a Deacon at his church and served on the Parish Planning Council for a number of years.
Andy enjoyed baseball and hockey in his younger years and later was an avid gardener and curler. He could repair or build anything and was particularly proud of his expertise at barbecuing salmon.
He will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
