STEWART (nee Roberts) Juanita – (June 30, 1933 – July 19, 2018) passed peacefully into the presence of her Lord. She is predeceased by her father Norman Roberts (1979) and mother Julia Calderoni (1947), loving husband Duncan and son Ian. Loving and missing her are her daughter Kathy (Darcy) and son Bruce (Colleen). She was adored by her six grandchildren – Cole, Spencer, Paige, Adam, Megan, and Andrei, whom Grandma thoroughly enjoyed and loved dearly. Juanita’s four great grandchildren (Sophie, Calvin, Jacob and Joseph) didn’t know her well but she loved them to the end. Juanita is also survived by her half-brother Wayne Roberts (Bernice), and half-sister Julie Fleming, numerous nephews and nieces, great-nephews and nieces, along with many friends who will remember her always. Juanita was born in Anyox, BC. Her family moved to South Slocan BC and she also lived in Hedley and Nelson BC. She left Nelson to train as a nurse at Royal Jubilee Hospital in Victoria, graduating in 1955. Shortly after, Juanita met Duncan Stewart and they married in Victoria, February 1956. Juanita retired three years later to be a wonderful stay-at-home mom. Their family journey took them from Victoria to Jordan River, Nanaimo, and Coquitlam where they retired. Juanita’s biggest joys in life were being a wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend. She worked and travelled to build many family genealogy histories and knew many people.
