Judith Anise Bicknell

We are saddened to announce that Judith passed away after a long illness. Judith was born in Winnipeg in 1940 to a musical family. She attended Carleton University, and then passed the Level 7 music exam. She joined a friend in Jamaica where she taught music, immersed herself in all aspects of Jamaican music, and met and married husband Robin.

The family migrated to BC in Canada in 1977, where Judes taught school for a few years before going to work in the Department of Education at SFU. She sang in several church choirs and choral groups.

Judes was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s in 2016 and spent her remaining years at the Inglewood Care Centre. Robin made sure she knew she was loved right up to the end of her life. She leaves him, children Simon and Annabel and 6 grandchildren. Sincere thanks to the Inglewood Care Home for 8 years of compassionate care and attention.
