Van Grol (Mathot)( Louise) Laurentia Margaretha Caterina passed away peacefully on Jan. 6,2020. Born
September 9,1931 in Voorschoten in the Netherlands. Laurentia immigrated to Canada in 1954 with her sister Margaret.She met her husband Tom at English lessons at Holy Rosary cathedral shortly thereafter. She lived her whole life in Vancouver, was actively involved in the community with Scouts Canada, Blockwatch, city planning committee, Sunny Hill hospital thrift store and the Catholic Church. She was actively involved in the lives of her children, grandchildren, family and friends. Was a role model and inspiration for everyone she met.
She will be truly missed by her children Theresa, Lorraine (husband Garry), Diana, Anthony (wife Sharon), Richard (wife Michele), and Steven. Grandchildren Justin (wife Emma), Calen, Miranda (husband Dan), Byron, Anton, Grayson, Natalie, Brandon, Jemma. Great grandchild Emily, brothers and sisters. Brother and sister in-laws, Nieces and nephews. Your spirit will be with us always. Love you forever.
Funeral mass will be celebrated on Friday January 24, 2020 at 10:30am with memorial reception after service at St Theresa Parish, 5146 Laurel Street Burnaby. In lieu of flowers please donate to: WAVAW Rape Crisis Center, National Catholic Broadcasting Council, Vancouver Poppy Fund Committee, Canadian Cancer Society, Call of the Poor, Union Gospel Mission, and MS Society of Canada or Operation Smile.
