Lucienne Yvonne Albert (Leguerrier)
It is with great sadness that the family of Lucienne Albert announces her passing on January 13, 2018 after 94 years of life and raising 15 children. Lucienne will be lovingly remembered by her children Hélène Roberge (Roger), Thérèse Lizée, Jeanne Kidd (Harvey), Lucille Haveland (Bud), Roger Albert (Carolyn), Eroca Alden (Rob), Claudette Friesen (Brant), Diane Aloysius (Richard), Aline Davies (Reuben Engineer), Guy Albert (Cindy), Gerry Albert (Robyn), Annette Roy (Daniel), Léo Albert (Carma) and Suzanne Chimick (Tom), 49 Grandchildren, 67 Great-Grandchildren and 40 Great-Great-Grandchildren. Lucienne is also survived by siblings Cécile, Yvette, Jeanette, George, and Lise. Lucienne was predeceased by her husband Zenon, daughter Denise Dalum and son-in-law Alan Lizée. She was also predeceased by siblings Paul, Madeleine, Laurette, Lucien, Maurice, Claire and Roger.
Lucienne was born April 4th, 1924 in Durlingville, Alberta. She worked in Montreal at Noorduyn Aviation Ltd. with sisters Cécile and Madeleine in the early 1940’s. She moved west and worked at St. Mary’s Hospital in New Westminster until 1945. Lucienne married Zenon Albert in 1946. Zenon was a widower with 5 young daughters and together they had 10 more children. The family lived in the same house in Coquitlam for 47 years. Lucienne and Zenon were founding parishioners of Our Lady of Fatima Parish in Coquitlam and were very involved in the parish throughout their lives. Lucienne was a long-time member of the Ladies of Saint Anne and CWL.
The family would like to thank the staff at the Dufferin Care Centre for the wonderful care given to Lucienne over the past almost 13 years. You all feel like family to us. Kalina, you have been an angel, we are so grateful for the kindness you have shown “Mamuś”.
Prayers will be said for Lucienne on January 18, 2018 at 7:00 p.m. and a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on January 19, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Fatima Parish, 315 Walker Street, Coquitlam, BC V3K 4C7. Celebrant Rev. Father Craig Scott. Reception to follow in the parish hall. Internment at St. Peter’s Cemetery, New Westminster.
In lieu of flowers donations to the MS Society of Canada or Cystic Fibrosis Canada would be appreciated.
