LUCY KORCHINSKI (Née Kereluik) Lucy Korchinski passed away peacefully on October 26, 2018. She is predeceased by her husband, Larry; and survived by her sister, Olga; her 4 children, Bill (Cynthia), David, Karen, Jim (Suzanne); and her 6 grandchildren.
She was beautiful, accomplished, loving, hard working, and creative. We remember her ready laugh, sparkly blue eyes and adaptability to all of life's changes. Born in Sheho SK Lucy graduated as a Registered Nurse from Saskatoon City Hospital where she stayed to work as an ER Scrub Nurse. In their 63 years of marriage Lucy and Larry travelled the world, experiencing life on Caribbean shores, Expat teas at Buckingham Palace, Pender Island clambakes and family fun wherever they lived. From city to city Lucy organized, packed, and unpacked her ever-growing family across North America and overseas: Deep River, Toronto, Berkeley, St. Louis, London, Vancouver, Calgary to name but a few. Her skill at transitioning from place to place and creating a loving happy home for her family was remarkable. She played a crafty hand of bridge, could drive a golf ball far into the California sunset, and sing the rafters off during her time in Sweet Adelines. Lucy had an extraordinary love of life and indomitable joyful spirit - her constant mantra was always 'Life is Good', and she meant it.
A special thank you to Dr. Richard James and Lucy's incredible caregivers & nurses at The Waterford for their loving, daily kindness and care. A private celebration of Lucy will be held in the spring of 2019.
