Luke Walsh

September 1, 1929 — July 5, 2016

WALSH, Luke
September 1st, 1929 – July 5th, 2016

Luke passed away very peacefully on July 5,2016 in Port Coquitlam. Born in Newfoundland, Luke had a great sense of humor. He was a teller of tall tales which became more sensational with each telling. A true Irish descendant, he was instantly at home on his visits there. Luke was a heavy equipment operator and was passionately fond of cranes, being very proud of the fact that he could operate a crane in areas where other operators dare not go.

He is sadly missed by Joan, the love of his life since 1980, and by his children in Ontario, Fabian (Linda), Jerry (Mary), Debbie (Ron), Kenny (Rhonda), Patrick and Kelly (Tracy), eleven grandchildren and one great-grandson, also his sisters, Frances and Judy, and brothers Patrick and David in Newfoundland and Norman in Ontario who have been a tremendous support during his illness. He will also be greatly missed by Joan’s children, Jill, Susan (Dan) and Alison (Jeff) and eight grandchildren. Luke will also be fondly remembered by his good friends Harry and Bob and his Tim Horton’s buddies. He was predeceased by his son Luke, his sister, Jenny, and his brothers, Harry and Jimmy.

A Memorial Service will be held at St. John’s Anglican Church (2208 St. John’s Street, Port Moody on Thursday, July 14, 2016 at 2:00 pm). In lieu of flowers donations may be directed to a charity of your choice or to the St. John’s Food Bank. A light has gone out of my life
