William George Wilson
Born Jan 17, 1915 to Evelyn & William Wilson at Winnipeg, Manitoba. Passed away Sept. 1, 2012 at New Westminster, B.C.
Bill and Mabel were married for 73 years, having met at school at Gibsons, B.C. They married in 1939. Bill served in the RCAF in WWII. They started a family and following the war Bill attended UBC graduating with a Hons. BSc in Chemistry. He taught students chemistry, science and math in Burnaby schools for 31 years. Mabel was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who worked tirelessly and selflessly helping with all their projects. Bill and Mabel travelled extensively in Canada and the U.S. They resided with their family in Burnaby and Coquitlam.
They are survived by children; Signe McBride (nee Wilson), Donald Wilson (Carol), Deirdre Wilson and Gordon Wilson. Grandchildren; Trevor McBride (Heidi), Aileen McBride (Lise), Trisha Wilson (Ian), Courtney Wilson (Craig), and Scott Wilson. Great grandchildren; Lachlan McBride, Isabella McBride, William McBride, Sebastien McBride, Amelia Adams and Sierra Wilson Parfitt.
Celebration of life and reception will be held for family and friends on Sat. Oct. 13, 2012 at 2:00pm at Burquitlam Funeral Home 625 North Road, Coquitlam.
