Tomassetti - Maria Pia

Maria Pia passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones on March 4, 2015. Born on April 10, 1944 in Bussi Sul Tirino, Italy. She is predeceased by her husband, Ugo Francesco in 2002. Survived by her three children Vince, Laila and Marco, her daughter-in-laws Angie and Nicole, her son-in-law Phil, and her five grandchildren Tiana, Alexia, Juliano, Anthony and Dominic.

Maria Pia was a loving wife, mama, nonna, neighbor and friend. She dedicated her life to helping others and had a special love of children having raised three kids, been a major part of all her grandchildren’s lives, and having had a positive influence over many other children in the neighborhood and community. Maria Pia spent countless hours volunteering at her parish, teaching children’s prep classes and working with children and families at Place Maillardville. She enjoyed the simple things in life but was happiest when with family and friends sharing a home cooked meal or when working tirelessly in her treasured garden. Maria Pia was a dedicated Catholic and relied on her faith without question to her final days. She will be sorely missed but her positive impact and life lessons will never be forgotten.

Prayers will be held on Monday, March 9th, 2015 at 7:00pm at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 828 Laval Square, Coquitlam, where Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Tuesday, March 10, 2015 at 11:00am. In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to Our Lady of Lourdes parish.
