SEPHTON, Marianne Catherine (nee Terris)
April 30, 1936 – April 17, 2018
With hurting hearts we share the news that Marianne Catherine Sephton has passed away at the age of 81 years, surrounded by family who love her deeply. She is survived by her husband, Paul, her children Marty, Colleen, Teresa (Ron) and Kevin, her stepson, Leslie Paul (Angie), and her grandchildren, Amanda, Alberto, Brian, Kylie, Mason and Peter, each of whom she cherished.
Marianne lived a remarkable life of love, humor and service. When faced with a challenging experience in hospital as a teen, she was inspired to become a nurse who really listened to and cared for her patients. For 62 years, as the world changed around her, Marianne served as a dedicated nurse and friend for generations of patients. Over the decades she worked in many areas of healthcare including obstetrics, cardiology, geriatrics, mental health, addictions, as an industrial nurse, and as a private nurse.
Marianne retired, only to begin her own business as a mobile foot-care nurse who drove all over the Lower Mainland, lovingly caring for her senior clients. She continued this service until she couldn’t any longer, finally retiring in February of this year.
Marianne had a gift for developing beautiful friendships, and made friends with people of all ages and walks of life. She rejoiced in the many miracles she experienced in her life, and shared her abundant faith, acceptance, wisdom, encouragement and gratitude with the people in her life.
Marianne’s down-to- earth honesty, her playful sense of humor, her childlike giggling, her wise sayings and her magical storytelling will be greatly missed by those who knew her.
A celebration of Marianne’s life will be held on Tuesday, April 24th at 11:00 am at St. Clare of Assisi Catholic Church, 2888 Delahaye Dr, Coquitlam, BC. Reception to follow in the church hall.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the BC Cancer Foundation: 686 W Broadway, Vancouver, BC V5Z 1G1 or to a charity of your choice.
