It is with great sadness we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved wife, mother, nanna and great-nanna, Mavis Isabel Maniago, on July 1, 2012, at the age of 72. Mavis was born in Trail, BC on May 19, 1940 to Seward and Lillian Lund. She was predeceased by her brother Don and her parents. She is survived by her loving husband of 49 years, Cesare, her daughters Jodi (Steve), Carolyn (Ken) and Donna (Amelia), 6 grandchildren and 1 great grandson. She will also be sorely missed by many other family members, including her extended hockey family and dear friends. Mavis had such a zest for life and was always up for a good time - whether it be on the golf course, morning coffees at the complex, Trail ladies luncheons, family reunions (famiglia per sempre!), movie outings with the gals or with the gang down in Palm Springs. She will always be remembered for her infectious laughter, great sense of humour and her fighting spirit. The family would like to thank all those who cared for her at Royal Columbian Hospital and the overwhelming support from all who loved her. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, July 10 at 11:00 at the Salvation Army Cariboo Hill Church, 7195 Cariboo Rd. in Burnaby (www.burquitlamfunerals.com). In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Group of Five and Friends Benevolent Society, 104-211 Ash St., New Westminster, BC, V3M 3M5, to support cardiac services at RCH.
