Myrtle Maud Pemberton, born on April 24, 1930, in Westmoreland, Jamaica, passed peacefully into the presence of her Lord in 2026. She was the cherished daughter of George and Christiana McHayle and was blessed with a long life marked by faith, love, and service.
In March 1963, Myrtle married William Pemberton, the love of her life and devoted partner. Together they shared a marriage grounded in faith, mutual respect, and unwavering commitment. Their union was blessed with three children: Christina, Rosalin, and Philip, who were the pride and joy of her life.
Myrtle leaves behind a loving family who will forever cherish her memory: her children, Christina, Rosalin, and Philip; her daughter-in-law, Kristine; her beloved granddaughters, Kiera and Olivia; and her siblings, Merle, John, and Neville.
Myrtle will be remembered as a faithful Christian, a devoted servant of God, a loving mother and grandmother, and a woman of grace and elegance. She possessed a keen sense of style, a curious mind, and a passion for lifelong learning. Whether through her service in the church, her love for family, or her kindness toward others, Myrtle touched countless lives and left a lasting impression on everyone she met.
Her faith was the cornerstone of her life. She served faithfully in ministry, supported her church community, and shared her love for Jesus through both word and example. She believed that the greatest gift she could offer her family was a foundation of faith and a relationship with God.
Those who knew Myrtle will fondly remember her warmth, wisdom, resilience, and sense of humor. One of her favorite sayings was, "I'm alive and kicking," a simple phrase that perfectly captured her spirited personality, positive outlook, and enduring faith.
Though she will be deeply missed, her legacy of love, faith, strength, and devotion lives on in the family she treasured and in the many lives she touched.
