Pat Runge

May 14, 1932 — May 6, 2015

Shirley Patricia Runge (nee Mansfield)
Born May 14th, 1932
Passed May 6th, 2015

After a short illness. Pat is survived by her loving husband of 63 years, Bob, sister Joan, sons Mark and Bill, and grandchildren Lauren and Connor. Pat had a rich and happy life most of her years, but faced some challenges to her health in her later life. Always a cheerful optimist, Pat had an interesting career including managing an office temp service and later as President of the New Westminster Chamber Of Commerce. An avid, highly ranked senior tennis player, Pat also helped create a successful women’s tennis clothing line.

Throughout her life, Pat was an accomplished painter, starting with oils and later experimenting with watercolours, and other techniques. After retiring, her art became even more creative and with Bob doing the framing for her they managed a nice cottage industry receiving commissions for portraiture of many kinds. Pat was generous to a fault and was always kind to everyone, giving of herself to whomever she sensed was in need. A wonderful mother and wife, she will be greatly missed.

Burial ceremony will be at 1:00, June 13th, 2015 at St. Stephen’s, 9887 Cameron St., Burnaby, in the church cemetery, immediate family and church members only, please. Celebration of Life ceremony will be at Burquitlam Funeral Home, 625 North Road, Coquitlam, in the Fireside Room, June 13th, 2:00-5:00 P.M., all welcome.
