It is with great sadness and a heavy heart to announce the sudden passing of Pauline Hammond (nee Khan), on July 11th of 2024, just 2 weeks shy of her 55th birthday at Royal Columbian Hospital in New Westminster, BC. Throughout her life, she touched the lives of many with her kindness, caring and thoughtfulness. Her light has been extinguished much too soon and will be dearly missed.
Pauline was born in England on a sunny day in July of 1969. She moved with her parents and 5 siblings to Canada at the age of 4 and settled in Coquitlam, where she graduated from Centennial Senior Secondary in 1987.
Pauline met the love of her life, Kevin, in 1989 and they married in 1994. In their 35 years together, they had a shared love of music and enjoyed music trivia and the many concerts attended over the years. They also spent their time travelling and partaking in activities such as bowling, tennis and going to movies. Pauline was an avid reader and loved to curl up with a book while getting cuddles from one or more of her loveable cats.
Pauline will always be remembered for being an animal whisperer, an amazing mommy of fur babies, her kindness, compassion and for having a quick witted, and twisted sense of humor. She is predeceased by her mother, Doreen. She is survived by her father, Ben, 5 siblings and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews, nieces, in-laws and her devoted husband of 30 years.
A celebration of life will be held on Sunday October 20/2024. If you knew Pauline and wish to attend, please contact Kevin at 604-454-7761 for the time and location.
In lieu of flowers, donations to Crossroads Hospice Society would be greatly appreciated.
