With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Pawel (Paul) Selwa, aged 87, who left us peacefully in Coquitlam, BC. Pawel was a beloved father, grandfather, and friend, whose life was a testament to the joy of living and the spirit of resilience.
Born with a knack for problem-solving and a hands-on approach to life, Pawel could fix, repair, or rebuild anything. His handiness was only rivaled by his passion for dancing, playing cards, and puzzles, which he pursued with an enthusiasm that inspired all who knew him.
Pawel was predeceased by his dear wife, Maria. Together, they built a life filled with love and shared dreams, and Pawel's love for her remained a light throughout his life. Pawel's greatest pride was his family.
He leaves behind his cherished daughters, Donna (& Jud), Ann (& Chris), and Lily (& Rich), who were the lights of his life. He was a devoted grandfather to Stasha, Ricky, Conrad, and Jamie, all of whom were touched by his love and guidance.
Charming, warm, and generous, Pawel will be remembered not just for his talents but for the way he loved life. His approach to life was echoed in one of his favorite songs “Que Sera Sera, whatever will be, will be…”
A celebration of Pawel’s life will be held on Friday, August 9, 2024, at 2:00 PM at St. Casimir’s Parish, 1187 27th Ave E, Vancouver, BC, V5V2L7. All who knew him are welcome to join us in honoring a remarkable man. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Canadian Red Cross.
Pawel’s memory will forever be cherished by his family and friends. He will be dearly missed and fondly remembered.
