JOKINEN, PERTTI JUHANI “JOHN”

With great sadness we announce the passing of Juhani. He was recently predeceased by his wife Anja of 51 years, and is survived by his children Michelle, Robert, Terry; grandchildren: Dillon, Brandon, Nicholas, Kari, Leena; and sisters Raija, Marita (Arto), and Seija (Matti). He is predeceased by his brother Raimo. He will also be remembered by many family and friends across Canada and Finland. Born in Jyväskylä Finland, he immigrated to Canada with Anja in 1966. He worked several jobs prior to the City of Richmond where he retired after 21 years. He was also an active member of the Finnish community and hosted the Finnish radio program. He will be greatly missed for his outgoing nature, humor, and willingness to help others. A memorial service will be held at Emmaus Lutheran Church, 6344 Sperling Ave Burnaby on February 14, 2014 at 11:00AM. In lieu of flowers, donations are accepted to Emmaus Lutheran Church or charity of your choice.
