Philip Bradley Glaister
January 28, 1957 – April 6, 2013
It is with great sadness that we share the news that Phil passed away on April 6th after a fierce battle with cancer that was courageously fought. He was a wonderful partner, father, friend, colleague, and mentor who touched many lives deeply. Phil embraced life with a genuineness and enthusiasm that had an indelible impact on all who entered his life. His love and warmth, friendship, wit and compassion will be missed more than words can say.
Phil is predeceased by his mother, Bessie, and his father, Robert. He is dearly missed and survived by his partner Hilary, his sons Aidan and Sterling, and his daughter Stephanie.
Phil’s passions included fishing – especially on the Stamp River, F1 racing, Porsches, golfing, watching the ocean and sunsets – particularly in Mexico, discovering great red wines, his family, his friends, and his psychotherapy practice. We hope he is now driving a very fast car on an autobahn by the ocean and taking breaks to watch the waves and the sunset.
A celebration of Phil's life will be taking place on May 4th at 2:00 PM at the Coast Hotel in Chilliwack.
We thank Dr. Teal and his Stroke Team as well as the palliative care team at VGH, and Dr. Sun at the BC Cancer Agency, for their excellent and compassionate care. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the BC Cancer Foundation - the fundraising partner of the BC Cancer Agency, or to the VGH Stroke Program.
