Robert (Bob) Favelle, 73, of Port Moody BC, passed away on July 6th 2025.
Bob grew up on the soccer pitches, baseball diamonds, and basketball courts in the community of Glenayre. He attended Port Moody Senior Secondary where he met his wife Norma and cultivated many life-long friendships. He lived life with kindness and laughter and took immense pride and joy in his family. When he wasn’t enjoying a round of golf with his buddies, Norma always had their next international adventure planned.
Bob often found himself in leadership roles from work to play. He was compassionate, diplomatic and a great listener. He volunteered to coach both of his children in softball and soccer. This led to a lasting relationship with the soccer community in Port Moody and throughout British Columbia. He served as the Executive Director of the Port Moody Soccer Club, Co-Chair of the Tri-Cities Youth Soccer District board, and a Director on BC Soccer’s Board of Directors. He was recently humbled and honored to have the field at Inlet Park named after him in recognition of his dedication to soccer as a coach, mentor, and leader. He welcomed and encouraged every player no matter the level and never had a bad word to say about any player, opponent, or rival.
He is survived by his wife, Norma, his children Jacqueline and Ian (Amanda), and his grandchildren Zadie and Dash.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Pitt Meadows Golf Course on Friday, September 5th at 2:00 pm. All are welcome.
