Rocco Dilorenzo

April 18, 1938 — May 14, 2021

Rocco Francesco DiLorenzo ( Frank) passed away May 14th. He Joins his beloved wife Graziella Dilorenzo ( Vagge) waiting for the call to their resurrection in the Lord. He is survived by their three children and seven grandchildren. He also leaves behind, to enjoy, many great memories that will be shared by all those who knew him.

Frank was born In Italy, in a small town near Bari named Velenzano. As a child growing up during the war they lived in poverty and recalls many occasions of going hungry, a fact that made complaining a challenge when his children tried. Frank was forced to leave school and help his family by working at a local business that made caskets. Although that became the basis for a business he later started and retire in, he often shared his sentiments that he wished he could have stayed in school. Even his schoolteacher pleaded with his parents since he was a very bright student.

After his military service, Frank left Italy and lived in Switzerland for 5 years. There he learned to speak French and Spanish fluently. A talent he loved to share whenever the opportunity presented. He eventually learned English and a dialect that he claims made five languages. But is four, the dialect is not even Italian. And he knows it.

Frank immigrated to Canada in 1967. He had many hobbies including playing the accordion and running. Later in life he would be fond of showing off his trophies and other memorabilia to his kids especially. He loved fishing with his pals and doing what most bachelors do, an activity he later did with his immediate and extended family.

In 1971 he met his future wife, Graziella (Grace). He had three children, two boys and a girl, Enrico, Roberto, and Katrina. They went on to produce them seven grandchildren, Anita, Sophia, Sebastiano, Erika, Giovanni, Mateo, and his twin Levi.

Frank provided for his family well. Although challenging at times, he managed to give his children a private education that his oldest credits for the reason he is not in prison😊. He worked as a wood finisher for a high-end manufacturer in Vancouver. He later used those skill manufacturing his own creations in his own business.

Rocco was a tough dude. He lost a kidney to an infection at a really young age. He later, only in his eighties, began dialysis. A treatment that was necessary, but he loathed. Really Hated. He was companioned after his wife passed by his dog, Lexi. A good dog that left him only months before frank passed. Frank was ready to leave us. Tired and confused he told me. Sadly, like all of us, he is gone to be with He that has paid our ransom. Jesus Christ.

Thank-you, Amen!

I will miss you terribly.
