Ronald Michael Breker

April 14, 1934 — May 7, 2025

It is with great sadness that the family of Ronald Breker announce his passing on the morning of May 7, 2025 at 91 years of age.

Born in Englefeld, Saskatchewan, Ronald (Ron) was the youngest of 6 children of Theodore and Rose Breker (Andrew, Leonard, Angeline, Roselle, Mathieu, Ron).

After graduating high school, Ron became a member of the RCMP and was stationed in a number of small towns throughout British Columbia. He was eventually transferred to Victoria (Colwood), BC, where he met and married his beautiful wife Carole in 1969. Ron was transferred again in 1972, this time relocating to Coquitlam, BC, where he and Carole bought their dream home and raised their 3 children - Carla, Steven, and Terri.

After over 25 years of service, Ron left the RCMP and went on to work for ICBC's Head Office for 10 years before retiring. Ron and Carole enjoyed spending their retirement years traveling with their truck and trailer, bringing their cats along on their many wonderful camping adventures.

Over the years, Ron enjoyed a number of different activities, including hockey, curling, and bowling. He also coached Terri’s softball team for many years, creating a lifetime of memories on and off the field. Ron loved to garden, play cards and games, spend time with his grandchildren, and go for scenic drives, afternoon coffees and dinners out with Carole.

After sharing 52 years of memories in their cherished family home, they moved into Mayfair Gardens in Port Coquitlam in 2024.

Ron was a caring and devoted husband, father, and Papa, and is survived by his loving wife Carole, his three children, Carla (Larry) Kelly, Steve (Nanette) Breker, and Terri Breker, and his 5 grandchildren, Lauren, Noah, Eli, Josef, and Samuel. Ron was loved by all who knew him and will be deeply missed.

Family and friends are invited to gather on Saturday, June 7th at All Saints Parish in Coquitlam to honour and remember Ron’s life. A Vigil for the Deceased will begin at 10:30 a.m., followed by a Funeral Mass at 11:30 a.m. A reception will take place at 12:30 p.m. in the parish hall.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to either the Eagle Ridge Hospital Foundation or the BC SPCA.
