Rose-Anne L’Heureux (née Côté) passed away peacefully in her sleep on Tuesday, January 28, 2025 at age 97.
Born in Ste. Anne des Chênes, Manitoba on September 3, 1927, to Hervé & Clara (Michaud) Côté. She spent her early years in Ste. Anne and Giroux, living through the hard times of the Great Depression and World War II. She married Jules L'Heureux in 1949. They had their first three children, Louis, Edgar and Thérèse, while in Manitoba. The family moved to Our Laby of Lourdes Parish in Maillardville, BC, in February 1956 where their last son Robert was born and where they made their permanent home. She lived on her own for the last 25 years after Jules passed away in 1999. She suffered two strokes in 2016 but recovered enough to live on her own until November 2022 when she was placed in long term care at Fleetwood Place in Surrey. She was a stay-at-home mom but always worked hard. She fostered a number of children while raising her family. Later, she volunteered for Our Lady of Lourdes, for Foyer Maillard seniors' home and Club Bel Age senior centre.
Predeceased by her husband of 50 years, Jules, her parents Hervé & Clara (née Michaud) Côté, siblings Antoinette, Alida, Noëlla, Rosaire, Aimé, son-in-law Darrell Brooks. Survived by her children, Louis, Edgar (Elisabeth), Thérèse, Robert, nine grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren, brother Paul Côté, sister-in-law Jeannine Côté, as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to the staff at Fleetwood Place for the care provided to our mother.
In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Heart & Stroke Foundation or to Alzheimer Society.
