Rosie passed away peacefully after a long battle with Alzheimer’s disease. Rosie was born in Vancouver to Mary and Nick Kalyk and grew up in Burnaby. She was predeceased by her brothers Alec & Nick, and sisters Jenny, Vali & Anne.
Survived by her husband Gordon of 55 years, sons Craig (Deanna), Colin (Monica) and Darren (Vy), and grandchildren Andrew, Raylen, Delilah and Alek.
Rosie had many friends she was devoted to, was kind and compassionate, and cared deeply for her friends as evident by their long relationships. She was a wonderful and devoted mother who lived for her children and grandchildren.
Many thanks to Dr. McNulty (“Doc”) and to the loving and caring staff of Q.P.C.C. Rosie cared for them as much as they cared for her. Their kindness and attention to caring for Rosie was greatly appreciated over the eight years she lived at Q.P.C.C. She had an incredible and loving support care system.
No service by request, a celebration of life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the Alzheimer Society of British Columbia in Rosie’s name by following the link below.
