Born in Sydney, Cape Breton NS. January 19, 1942 to Charlie & Olive Leyte. She attended Sydney Academy. Employed at Sears Sydney. Dedicated to her Christian upbringing where she met Roland (Roly) at a Young Peoples conference. The rest of this as they say…is 60+ years of history.
Roylene always wanted to have a career in nursing, eventually becoming an LPN in geriatric care. She attended BCIT and received her MOA. Reading was her number one pass time, especially biographies.
Having an artistic flare she took up the Quilting hobby, blessing many with gifts.
Her love of Country music, (WWVA) radio every Saturday evening and after accepting Jesus as her saviour in 1971, southern Gospel filled the air.
Roylene was dedicated to family! Having raised her three children she took on the role of ‘Nanny’ to Morgan & Myranda, who always knew that a phone call to Nanny could fix just about any problem.
With her belief in the resurrection, now in the presence of Jesus, she is waiting for those who share her faith to be together again. Her favourite “precious promise’ of scripture, which was on a card in her wallet all her life, comes from Psalm 139:23,24 “Search me O God, and know my heart; Try me, and know my thoughts:
And see if there be any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.”
In Lieu of flowers, donations to the BC Diabetes Foundation or a charity of your choice may be made.
A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date.
