Erina, Sidney
March 10, 1918 – February 7, 2013
With heavy hearts, we announce that our father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend Sidney Erina has passed into the loving arms of his Heavenly Father. Born in Elm Springs, Saskatchewan, on March 10, 1918, dad’s last home was the George Derby Centre in Burnaby, BC. Sidney was predeceased by his wife, Christina, in March 2010. Left to mourn his passing and celebrate his wonderful life are daughter Judy and husband Bruce MacGregor, their sons, Michael and James and wife Amber and their children; son Mark Erina and Jennifer Keyes, and their sons Griffin and Aidan Keyes. Sidney is also survived by very dear friend Jane Mancinelli. Sidney fought for his country in WWII and continued to serve with the Canadian Armed Forces until 1967. He loved the outdoors, horses, big blue skies, and his family. He spoke several languages and had an easy smile, a winning sense of humour, and kindness for everyone. A memorial service to honour Sidney’s life is planned for Friday, February 15, at 10:00am in the Chapel at Burquitlam Funeral Home, 625 North Road, Coquitlam. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Parkinson Society of Canada.
