Suzanne Richter

Suzanne Ann Richter, 63 of Coquitlam, B.C. passed away suddenly on Thursday, July 11, 2013 peacefully in her sleep. She was born August 13th, 1949 to the late Gordon Currie and Isabelle St.Pierre Currie in Sudbury, Ontario.
Suzanne (Suzie) grew up in Glenayre, B.C. and graduated from Centennial High School in the class of 1967. She was married to Gordon Richter until 1996 and raised two loving children Kelly Richter Braendli and Michael Richter. She spent the last 17 years with her life partner and companion Harvey Akins who sadly passed away late last year following a long battle with cancer.
She was a long time resident of Coquitlam and spent most of her career in the insurance business working for Johnston Meier Insurance at Lougheed Mall and later for the Co-operators at Sunwood Square. Suzie loved to make people laugh and was a generous and loving person. She was a gifted seamstress and antique collector. She enjoyed travelling and especially loved Paris. She retired in February 2012 to spend time with her 2 grandsons who she adored more than words can say. Sue will be missed by all, especially her grandsons.
Suzanne is survived by her mother, Isabelle Currie; children Kelly & Pius Brändli, Mike Richter & Vanessa Pinelli; two wonderful grandsons Matthias Braendli (2 years) and Jackson Richter (17 months); sister Shelly Livesey & husband Bud Livesey and brother Jay Currie as well as nieces and nephews. She also leaves behind numerous loving relatives and close friends who will miss her dearly.
A celebration of Suzanne’s life will be held on Tuesday, July 23rd at 10:30 am at the Westwood Plateau Golf & Country Club. We will have a memorial service followed be a reception and a chance to celebrate the life of our loving mother, sister and friend. Suzanne will find her final resting place at the Robinson Memorial Park Cemetery later this year.
In lieu of flowers, donations to Smile Train in Suzanne’s honour would be most appreciated.
