It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Thomas John Berry on August 23, 2025.
He was born on September 21, 1957 to Marion and Percy Berry in Vancouver, British Columbia. Tom grew up in North Burnaby, the eldest of eight children. He married Sandra on July 24, 1982, and they had two children, Andrea and Katrina. He worked as a customer service representative for APT Auto Parts in Burnaby.
He was an avid volunteer serving as PAC chair at his daughters’ school, President and Referee Coordinator of Burnaby Girls Soccer Club, and Strata Chair for many years. Through his work and these volunteer experiences, he had many friends who he enjoyed keeping in touch with, even when the volunteering ended.
He was thoughtful and cared deeply for those around him, especially his family and friends. He loved music, particularly the BeeGees, Michael Bublé, and the Beatles, and shared this love with his daughters. He was a collector of interesting facts, and there was nothing he didn’t know or wasn’t willing to learn.
Tom is survived by wife, daughters, siblings, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.
A memorial service will be held September 19, 2025 at 11:00am at St. John the Apostle Anglican Church, 2208 St. John’s Street, Port Moody, BC with the Reverand Jeanne Forte officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to KidSport at https://kidsportcanada.ca/british-columbia/burnaby/donate/ Burnaby or a charity of your choice.
