Tom was born in Vancouver on April 2,1936 and passed away peacefully surrounded by family on April 20, 2013.
Tom was the youngest son of the late Thomas and Gladys Hughes. He is predeceased by his older sisters Marjory and Agnes, and older brother Clive. Tom is survived by his wife, Betty, daughter Laura (Edward), son Tom (Sherri) and grandchildren Randie-Lynn, Thomas Joel, Lauryn, and Thomas Owen.
Tom was a member of the Seathforth Highlanders of Canada, first as a Cadet 1949-1956, then with the Regiment as a Sergeant 1956-1962, then with Seaforth Regimental Association and the Seaforth Association Band, and played with the band at the Edinburgh Military Tattoo in 1988.
Memorial donations may be made to the BC Heart & Stroke Foundation or the BC Cancer Society
