Victor Young

Victor Mason Young 1924-2015

Passed away peacefully on June 16, 2015. He is survived by his wife Elizabeth nee Booth, his daughter Leanne (Mike), his sons Devin, Rod (Margaret), sister Honoree and grandchildren: Ethan, Anna, Allie, Henry, Gareth and Kieran.

Victor or Vic as he was known to friends and family was born in Burnaby and lived there throughout his childhood. Vic attended University of British Columbia where he received a Bachelor of Arts and Science along with a professional forester and agrologist degrees. He spent many years in the forestry industry with his early years in the B.C. Ministry of Forests and the Workers' Compensation Board and much of his career on foreign assignments in Asia, Africa, Europe and the Middle East. Later he regretted being away from his family for long periods of time. Once retired he and Liz spent many happy times in their RV traveling throughout North America eventually settling into their beloved log home on Horsefly Lake.
