It is with sadness we announce the passing of Wes at Maple Hill Care Home in Langley, days before his 82nd birthday. He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Barbara; his children: Rick (Carol), Dave (Sylvia), Chris (Yvonne), Laurel (Ed Seitz); grandchildren, James, Daniel, Casi, Alexei, Matthew, Michael, Emily, Jacqueline and Lesley and by his sister, Hazel Dickson and brother, Robert. Wes was predeceased by his sister, Marion. He will be sadly missed by his close cousins, Lawrence Cruickshank and Heather Reed. Wes was born in Lower Caledonia, Nova Scotia and moved to BC at age 18, where he met his sweetheart Barbara and they were married in 1954. He worked at Weiser Lock and then BC Transit for 27 years, retiring in 1994. His many entertaining stories will be missed by his hunting partners (the Arthurs) and the Saturday morning walking group. A Memorial Service will be held at Burquitlam Funeral Home, 625 North Road, Coquitlam, on Tuesday, September 2 at 10:00 am. Thank you to the caring staff at the Maple Hill Care Home, for your kindness and support. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to a charity of choice.
