The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Jesse Burges can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Thank you.

Born to be Friends

Where to begin?

We were born to be friends.  At only 6 months apart we've shared a lifetime of memories together.  My childhood is filled with love, laughter and nothing but good times together.

There are so many stories, so many good times that it's hard to pick through them.  I always looked up to you and you always looked out for me.  Playing lacrosse together, hanging out with your friend group, parties at the house, I was always so happy to spend time with you.

I remember the Osoyoss trip well, switching over Bob's truck from gas to propane in the middle of the highway and having the truck sputter out and almost being rear ended by a semi.  We brought a bag of chimichangas and a microwave and slept in the truck.  We made it to Pentiction and I snuck you in the back door of Night Moves because your terrible fake Alberta ID was denied.  Hitchiking back to Osoyoss at 3am with some random people.  Trip of a lifetime, one highlight of many.  I remember my parents telling me the story of two guys from the lacrosse team that hitchiked from Penticton to Osoyoos on the wrap up trip, and whether I knew anything about it? Obvioulsy full denial, never heard a thing.  Now they know it was us, I suppose...

You've always been there for me, every single time.  Not always right away, but always there.  I'm still not ready to say goodbye.  Maybe just see you later.  Im so thankful that I was your cousin, but so much more thankful I was your friend.  I'm a better person having known you.  Thanks for everything, I owe you one.

Love Ryan
