Dear Dad
Dear Dad,
It is difficult to believe you are no more with us. It was so sudden and unexpected. You were still so strong and full of energy.
We didn’t spend so much time together in the last few years but still our lives were so full of your insightful teachings. We were lucky to have such a father to grow us up.Our childhood and adolescence were particularly joyful. You and our mother built up so many important memories in our minds that will always guide us for the rest of our lives.
Sweet little things that we are transferring to our children, from the modelling of a small paper boat to the art of playing a musical instrument. From the care for details in building up the Nativity scene at Christmas time to the emotion of leaving at dawn for an adventurous fishing day on a river. These are special moments we will never forget, special emotions which will always warm our hearts up.
The last few days in your life were a great opportunity to rejoin the family next to you, the opportunity to hug and kiss you and brighten up your days taking your hand and walk the last miles together.
You’ve been great to Lucrezia, your new little niece, who was incredibly happy to meet such a big granpa she renamed “the cousin of Santa Clous”. You really enchanted her, she fell in love with you.
So bring your energy and happiness wherever you are and please stay tuned with us and wink to us every now and then as we still need your optimism to go on.
Rest in peace, we love you.
