Obituary for William Noel Blakely

William Noel Blakely
William Ernest Noel Blakely was born in Enniskillen, Northern Ireland on Dec. 23, 1955. Named after his grandfathers, he was affectionately known as Noel as he was born so close to Christmas. Surrounded by his loved ones, Noel started his journey home on Saturday March 4th, 2017 at 61 years of age. He was predeceased by his mother, Sheila Blakely.

Noel will be greatly missed by his wife, Yoshiko Blakely, sons, Keegan and Connor, father James, brother Norman, and sisters Pamela, Ann, and Amanda.
A good friend to many, Noel was treasured for his strength, humility and beautiful spirit.

In his early years in Northern Ireland, Noel was active in many sports and was an avid music lover. Completing his electrical apprenticeship before leaving Northern Ireland, he immigrated to British Columbia in 1978. Noel married Yoshiko in1996. The couple were blessed with two sons, Keegan and Connor.

Noel’s work took him to many different countries though while he was at home, he was of great service to his community. Always helping others with courage, kindness and intention, Noel had a profound impact on many people’s lives. He brought these same qualities to his long battle with cancer and he fought it as best he could.

The family invite you to attend the Funeral Services for Noel being held on Tuesday March 14th, 2017 at the Burquitlam Funeral Home, 625 North Road Coquitlam. Visitation will begin at 2pm.
