Obituary for Antoniella Di Cicco (Garofano)

Antoniella Di Cicco (Garofano)
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our cherished and beloved Mamma
and Nonna Antoniella DCicco (nee Garofano) surrounded by her family.
Antoniella was born in Sturno, Avellino on March 27, 1927. She came to Canada in 1955, sponsored by her sister Anna and brother-in-law Alfredo. A year later in 1956, her husband Antonio joined her. Antoniella and Antonio settled in Coquitlam, first in Mallairdville then moving to the Blue Mountain and Como Lake area of Coquitlam. Antoniella was a devoted wife, mother, aunt, sister and left an indelible impression on the lives she touched. She was a loving, caring, affable person, with an open, unselfish heart, and was always there for anyone who needed her. She loved to sing, cook, attend weekly mass and garden. She was a treasure to have in our lives.
Antoniella will be forever missed by her 3 children, Angelo (Geraldine), Anna (Augusto) and Laura (Grant), grandsons Ryan and Steven, and step granddaughters Lisa and Michelle. Antoniella had a special bond with all her children and grandchildren, nieces and nephews, as well as her son in law Augusto, who was very involved in her care and he loved her like a Mother and she treated him as a son. He will miss their days talking about Italian literature and going out for an espresso during the week to Gian Carlo Deli. Her grandsons Ryan and Steven were raised by their Nonna and she will always have a special place in their hearts.
Antoniella was predeceased by her husband Antonio in 2008 and her sister Anna 2005 and brother-in-law Alfredo in 2003. She leaves to mourn her brothers Gennaro and Joe Garofano, and sister Gerardina Valente.
Antoniella is a woman to be celebrated, for her love, her kindness, her pureness of soul and spirit. Fly with the angels Mamma, and we are consoled by the fact that we know you are watching over us. We love you. Rest in peace.
