The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Bruce Sashaw can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

The lighting of a Memorial Candle not only provides a gesture of sympathy and support to the immediate family during their time of need but also provides the gift of extending the Book of Memories for future generations.

hockey and pitch/putt, a really good guy.

So sad to hear of the passing of Bruce, or as we like to call him at work the 'B-man'.  I met Bruce back in Richmond in 1972.  He was a year older so i didn't really know him in school but i met him as my bud's and i needed a goalie net to play hockey at Dixon school.  Bruce had no problem lending it to us even though most of the time he didn't play.  But if we needed a goalie he was more than happy to step in....

Years later i reunited with him at the City of Vancouver - 1976 (wow) he worked in sewers and we started playing hockey at various rinks around Vancouver.  The reliable Brucer there to help us at Kerrisdale and Kits so we could have a proper game.

Once again, years later, we were reunited at work as Construction managers of detailed street projects. Bruce always helped out the public for he knew how difficult it was to delve through political channels. Lorne taught him well as went the extra mile to help out the local taxpayer. We heard it at work eveyday it seemed.

In the summer Bruce held the Streets pitch and putt tournament and the party after...always funny.  He holds the record of 57 at Kensington Pitch and Putt.  He loved that little course and in his memory i will continue its tradition next year.

We will all miss his laugh.
