The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Donna Carlson can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Sending my love to all of you. I know there isn't anything that we can say that will help relive your grief, but through sharing stories of your daughter, sister, Aunt, Mom, Grandmother and love for Donna some comfort will be found. Selena shared her family with me 15 years ago when we became teaching partners. Over the years; a couple of baby boys, several birthday parties, a few secrets, some nights out with stories we won't print here and she shared her mom with me. When Donna was making the brave move to her new house, she discovered how big it felt. I had been looking for a new place to rent. Donna asked Selena if I'd like to move into her basement. A great match for her to know her Mom was not alone and I was delighted to be able to keep an eye on her Mom, we all know it ended up that she kept an eye on me. Donna took me in, as a "roomie" and she knows that I loved having those years with her. Cancer took her, everyone is left to hold onto our own memories. When we became roomies, she was gracious in creating a lovely space for me, made sure I had a place to go for holiday meals, talked by candlelight, coached me in life lessons and let me try to offer "tech support" amongst other ways I could care/help. Gracious, generous, wise, positive,hard working and proud of her family. It's always going to be hard, but Donna, I promise to be there for your family as you were there for me. It's the best way I can pay tribute to the love Donna showed me ❤️
