Obituary

Obituary for Edi Bogere

Taken from us far too soon, Edi was a gentle soul with an infectious smile. Family and friends have been overcome with unparalleled sorrow at this untimely catastrophe. Having grown up in Coquitlam and attended Vanier Elementary, Como Lake Middle, and Centennial Secondary schools, he was known to many friends and acquaintances as a polite young man. In the community, Edi’s prowess as an exceptional athlete was well known. He played on the Centennial Secondary Boys soccer team and for Coquitlam Metro-Ford Soccer Club where his goals propelled U-18 Select team Sparta to a Canadian National Championship. Edi’s memory will live on through his family and friends; he will be remembered as a kind and quiet young man. A service will be held to reminisce on past joys and celebrate Edi’s life, we invite everyone who knew him to join us. May his soul find peace.

For those who are able, we ask that you contribute towards offsetting the various expenses associated with the required services and to assist his family in this most difficult of times.

I was just notified that Edi passed away today when I coincidentally ran into an old friend from elementary school. I lived a block away and went to school with Edi from elementary all the way until high school graduation. Not only was he incredibly talented at soccer, he was an even better person as long as I knew him. He was always very kind to me and just came across as sincere. I worked on a school project with him in the fourth grade and we always played soccer together at our elementary's gravel field. Rest in peace my friend.

Edi, I wish ...
I wish you had known how much I liked you
I wish you had known how much I wanted to get to know you better
I wish you had known how much I loved your smile
I wish you had known how much I would have done to help you
I wish you had known that you could have come to me to talk about anything
I wish you had known how many times I thought of you when I heard about jobs that you would have been good at
I wish you had known how much your absence would affect me
I wish you had known how important your family is to me
I wish you had known that I loved you
I wish I could give you one more hug
I wish you had known ...
I hope that you are somewhere hanging out with all the amazing musicians who have passed in the last few years and feeling happy & at peace - I choose to believe you are
I miss you Edi

"I am at a loss for words. I know there is nothing for me to say that will make your loss easier but know that I am sending you my love and support. I hope you can understand what I can't put into words."

Sincerely,
Domingo de Torres
