I came to know and truly admire Francesca when I worked at The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. Our vision, back then,was to create an event called "Journey of Hope" and Francesca played such an important lead role in making it a very special gathering for blood cancer survivors; their family & friends; Oncology Doctors & Nurses; and blood cancer researchers. She lead one of the breakout sessions for survivors and she was an inspiring presenter at the Awards Ceremony--when she recognized one of the researchers for their ground-breaking science. She was such a leader...I was fortunate to work alongside her...and Richard, my thoughts are with you, right now. Rick O'Brien
