It is with great sadness and sorrow that I write these words. Ivanka was one of our best friends. We were family friends for over 30 years. We visited often, for coffee or a game of rummy. I have many beautiful memories of our times with Ivanka and her Family, and I will cherish these memories forever. She was beautiful and kind person with a great sense of humor. The hardest part is knowing that I will never see that beautiful smiling face or be able to just drop in for a cup of coffee. The phone call I received shattered my day It was Melita telling me you had passed away We had parties and get togethers for over 30 years Now my heart is breaking and I just have tears You had a circle of close friends, loved by all You were always there for us, big or small We shared a bond and a special link You made an impact in our lives, more than you think No farewell words were spoken, no time to say good-bye . You were gone before we knew it, and only God knows why. The thought of never seeing you again brings tears to my eyes, And even more so, because all this was such a surprise. So many thoughts come to my mind Beauty, style, fun, laughter, and so kind For you were a special friend True, right to the end On Wednesday we will say our prayers Heavens Gates will open and you will climb the stairs The Angels will open their arms and sing Don’t be afraid, you are in the home of our King Our hearts will ache in sadness, and the tears will flow. What it means to lose you, no one will ever know. Your friendship was a blessing And we will all miss you so Your family has picked a place for you to sleep, We will visit often, a promise we will keep You will be in our thoughts, years will not erase We will close our eyes and see your beautiful face.
