Condolence: I was deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Joannie last week. While I have not had recent contact with Joannie and her family, my early life in Burnaby was blessed by the bonds and times our families shared. We were two of the larger families in the area and as cousins either home was open to both crews and many meals, stories, arguments and laughs were shared. Joannie is the oldest Chisholm cousin and therefore had the pleasure of dealing with five younger siblings and five younger cousins - a challenging task as the oldest child in the group is often looked up to, held to a higher standard and also incessently bugged. I must admit that I did a lot of bugging but I had a healthy fear/respect (it made me a faster runner) of Joannie's age and status as the alpha-cousin.
The memories I most cheriish are Joannie's love and commitment of her husband, her children, her parents, siblings and extended family and THAT LAUGH. Joannie laughed with her entire body and there was no hiding the joy she felt and shared with others.
The Kamloops Chisholms offer our prayers for the repose of the soul of Joannie and for the graces needed at this sorrowful time by Joannie's family and all that loved her. Our heartfelt condolences to Craig, Sheena, Liam, Aunt Margerite, Danny, Jackie, Patricia, Ann-Louise, Billy, Aunt Trudy, the Pandora St. Chisholms, the Brophys and all that mourn our loss.
