Life Story for Mary Pauline Nichols

Mary Pauline  Nichols
Mary Pauline Nichols (nee Thompson) born September 8, 1921 in Cluny, Alberta to Sara Jane Thompson (nee Death) and her husband Wilburn Thompson, peacefully passed away December 27, 2016 at age of 95 years, here in Coquitlam, B.C..

Mary is survived by her husband of 68 years Ken Nichols and her daughter Kathy and son Jim and 5 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

After graduating from high school in 1938 she worked in business before joining the Canadian Air Force in 1942 with the rank of LAW (leading aircraft woman). After release from the Air Force in 1946 Mary moved to Vancouver, B.C. and worked with Ingersol Rand and met her future husband and married June 30, 1948. In years after the war they lived with family in Vancouver until opportunity to move to Coquitlam then rural farm land but ideal to raise their children.

Mary was a loving attentive mother active in her community and with prairie spirit was always there to help family, friends and neighbors. She enjoyed cooking up big Sunday meals for the family that will forever be remembered and always followed by a relaxing game of cards.

Predeceased by her parents and family of 5 brothers and 2 sisters whose memories she always held dear are now realized in Heaven.

A Celebration of Life is planned for Saturday, February 4th, 2017 from 10 AM 'til noon at Belvedere Care Centre located 739 Alderson Avenue, Coquitlam, B.C.
