The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Mary Olson can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Thank you.

Golf & Travel with Grandchildren

Mary sure enjoyed golfing and bridge games with her friends at the Vancouver Golf Club (VGC). However, perhaps her greatest joy was watchng her six grandchildren grow. Mary introduced each of them (Erik, Johnathon, Amelija, Oliver, Zoe & Quinton) to new foods, family history, travelling the world and golf.  For example, Mary enrolled Quinton (age 7) into golf lessons at the VGC his summer. When Mary asked Quinton if he was "a lttle excited" about golf lessons, Quinton said, "No, I am not a little excited  .  .  .  I am very, very excited!"  Another example: Mary would take 2 - 3 of her grandchildren at one time, on trips as exotic as Africa and as fun as Disneyland.  Yet another example: Mary arranged to golf with four of her grandchildren last month in August, thereby forming an unusally large group of 5 players whose ages spanned almost 70 years (ages 10 to 79).
