The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Ronald Wood can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Ron Wood on October 16, 2014, after a very short battle with cancer.

Ron was born in Winnipeg on December 5, 1951.  He was pre-deceased by his brother Garry Wood (1980), father-in-law Jack MacKenzie (1990), mother-in-law Phyllis MacKenzie (2000), and mother Shirley Wood (2013).

Ron is survived by his wife Sharon, children Colin and Leigh (Wes), his four beloved grand children Kynan, Fiona, Chase and Gavin, his father Ron and his wife Mavis, sister Wendy (Jay), brother Randy and brother-in-law Rick (Jackie).  His nieces Carmin, Heather and Julie and nephews Jared, Garry and Jordan, plus numerous extended family members, friends, and collegues are also mourning his loss.

Ron was a kind, gente, generous, loving man who will live in our hearts forever and he was taken from our lives far too soon.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Alzheimer's Society, two charities that were close to Ron's heart.

A Celebration of Ron's life wil be held on Saturday, November 1, 2014,  2:00 - 6:00 pm at the Burnaby Lake Pavillion, 6871 Roberts Street, Burnaby.  We hope you can join the family to share memories, stories and laughter.
