Rose Marie Flasch (Kaufmann)

Rose Marie, 84, passed away peacefully on February 20, 2017, with her family by her side in New Westminster, B.C. She was born in Wilkie, Saskatchewan, to Anthony Kaufmann, and Rosa Kaufmann (Schmidt) and was raised in Leipzig, Saskatchewan, along with her 9 siblings. Rose Marie moved to Saskatoon, SK, where she married her husband, Wilfred Flasch in 1953, had her first child, Debbie, in 1954 and and then moved to Toronto, Ontario in 1955. They resided there until 1964 and welcomed four more children, Bill, Jerry, Russ & Carol. They then moved to Calgary where they lived for two more years and added Bob & Jackie to their family. In 1966 the Flasch family made the move to Coquitlam B.C. and their last child, Darryl, was born in 1968.
Rose Marie was a dedicated housewife, and spent her time raising her 8 children, along with her husband Wilfred. Their home was known to always be a welcome place for all family and friends. Rose Marie was known for her accordion playing, bowling skills, and love of baseball.

Along with her dedication to family she was a devout Roman Catholic with immense faith. She attended mass regularly and had a deep devotion to our Blessed Mother Mary. Rose Marie would pray the rosary daily and was an active member of her church.

Rose Marie was loved and will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

Rose Marie was predeceased by her husband Wilf, parents Anthony & Rosa, and siblings William, Arnold, Charlotte, Sr. Mildred, Lucille and David. She is survived by her siblings Fr. Lester, Bernie, and Dolores, children Debbie (Russ), Bill (Gail), Jerry (Ann), Russ (Lexie), Carol (Dave), Bob (Kelly), Jackie (Dave), and Darryl; grandchildren Jen (Andy), Justine (Nate), Heidi (Grant), Matthew, Daniel, Spencer, Clayton, Heather, Bradley, Lucas, Steven, and Chris (Samantha), and great-grandchildren Nolan, Ella, and Riley.

A prayer service for Rose Marie will be held on Thursday, March 2, 2017 at 7 p.m., and a Funeral Mass will take place on Friday, March 3 at 1 p.m. The services will be held at St. Clare of Assisi Parish, 1320 Johnson St., Coquitlam, B.C.
