Obituary for Shirley Irene Kovacic

It is with great sorrow that we say goodbye to Shirley Irene Kovacic (nee Beckwith), who passed away on July 6, 2018, at the age of 78. She will be affectionately remembered by her adoring husband of 48 years Louis, beloved son Jason (Kim), and her 3 sisters Janet, Terry (Elmer) and Joyce (Barry). Born on November 3, 1939 in Vancouver to Delbert and Norma Beckwith. Irene met the love of her life Louis on April 1 (April Fools Day), 1968 little over 2 years later they were married on June 27, 1970. A short time later, there family expanded with the arrival of Jason on November 5, 1971. It was in 1975 when Irene and her 2 loves moved to Port Coquitlam, where they would stay to raise Jason before moving on to Maple Ridge in 1992. After retirement, Irene and Louis moved to Allison Lake where she spent her time fishing, playing cards and found her new passion in life: quilting. Irene touched everyone she knew with her big heart, willingness to put others first and her ability to chat with anyone she met. She will be forever missed by all that knew her, and although the world will forever miss her lovely sole, her spirit will live on in everyone she knew and loved. An alternative to flowers could be donations to the BCSPCA your choice, envelopes will be available at the service. A funeral service will be held on August 1, 2018 at 10 a.m. at Burquiltam Funeral Home 625 North Rd., Coquitlam.
