Life Story for Tatiana Maria Dubeckyj

Tatiana Maria Dubeckyj
Tatiana was born March 5, 1981 in Kitchener, Ontario where she lived for 19 years with her parents, Ihor and Irene and sister Andrea. A natural athlete, Tatiana excelled at the many sports she played including basketball, volleyball, badminton, tennis, skiing and track & field. She loved to be near water and took every opportunity to sail with her father or swim at the beach. An avid reader, she often read many books in a week. Animals were her absolute joy – she spent endless hours playing, napping and cuddling with them (whether they wanted to or not).

In 2000, Tatiana moved to British Columbia to study Archaeology at Simon Fraser University. Just a few years later, she met and fell in love with Blair and they married on Pender Island in 2008. Tatiana cherished the MacDonald family and embraced them whole-heartedly. Together, Blair and Tatiana built a wonderful life in Coquitlam with their beloved dog, Sasha.

In recent years, Tatiana developed a passion for growing anything and everything that she could put on her balcony garden. She tended her many plants with the same care and attention that she showed everyone and everything she loved. She was a nurturing and sensitive person with a great sense of humour and the ability to make people laugh.

She loved living in British Columbia and took such pleasure in discovering her next new favourite restaurant, beach, brewery, or hiking spot with Blair and Sasha. For those visiting BC, she was the ultimate guide and host and took great pleasure in sharing BC’s gems with others.

Tatiana was also a talented crafter. With her steady hand and attention to detail, she channeled her creativity into producing beautiful painted glass designs and illustrations that she shared with a fortunate few. She loved to create in the kitchen as well – she was always experimenting and seeking inspiration from her favourite restaurants and magazines. Most of all, she loved sharing it all with family and friends.

Tatiana was proud of the work she did as a Project Manager at Trane, and was known in her workplace as a caring, generous and happy person.

It is with such heavy hearts that we say goodbye. Tatiana had so much more to do, and so much love to give. Her giggles, warm smile, and animated story telling won’t be matched, but her generous and sincere approach to all she did will leave a lasting mark on all who knew her.

Tatiana, we thank you for all you gave us and the light you brought to us. May you exist eternally with all the love and joy you so deserve.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in her name to the SPCA.
